Both Jr Rocks Teams Fall Short Of The Mark Sunday

Both the Jr. ‘A’ and the Jr. ‘B’ Tier 1 Shamrocks were on the road Sunday in their respective semi-final series and both fell short.

The Tier 1 Shamrocks fell 10-7 to the Delta Islanders in game 2 of their best-of-three series so with that series now tied at 1 game each, game 3 shifts back to the Q Center on Tuesday with the winner advancing to the league final against the Coquitlam Adanacs.  Game time on July 23 is 5:00 pm.

Meanwhile the Jr. ‘A’ Shamrocks fell behind early and, despite a valiant comeback attempt, fell 13-11 to the New Westminster Salmonbellies in game 4, allowing the ‘Bellies to tie that series at 2 games each.  The Rocks trailed 8-5 and 12-6 before outscoring New Westminster 5-1 in the final 20 minutes.

Leading the way offensively once again for the Shamrocks was Teioshontathe McComber with 5 goals and 1 assist.  Zach Manns had the reverse – a goal and 5 helpers while Casey Wilson also had a 6-point game with 3 of each.  Singles came from Austin Madronic and Patrick Dodds.   Game 5 in the series is next Saturday, July 27 but will be played at the Save-On Memorial Center with a start time of 4:00 pm.
