Tyler Pace scored an overtime buzzer-beater to give the Victoria Shamrocks a 12-11 win, and a 3-1 lead in the WLA Championship series on Friday night at Cam Neely Arena.

The goal from Pace capped yet another incredible 3rd-period comeback for the team that simply won’t quit.  The Shamrocks entered the 3rd trailing the Burrards 8-5.  All-told, the Shamrocks outscored the Burrards 4-1 in the 3rd to force the extra session.

The shots heavily favoured the Burrards 63-48, largely in part to the large discrepancy in power-play time between the two clubs.  The Burrards went 4-8 on the power play while the Shamrocks were 1-4, of which one was on the back end of a Burrards power play.

For Pace, the OT winner was the cherry on top for a great 4 goal night.  Jesse King, Chris Boushy and Marshal King each scored twice while Tyson Gibson and Connor Robinson scored once.

Peter Dubenski was outstanding as he stopped 52 of the 63 Maple Ridge shots, including several big ones in overtime.

The Shamrocks will now return home looking for the series win on Sunday night at 6:00 pm and punch their ticket to the Mann Cup.
