Standout women’s soccer player Desiree Scott is headed to the Canada West Hall of Fame.

Scott, who played on Canada’s 2012 and 2016 bronze medal winning women’s Olympic soccer squads, is the latest induction into the conference Hall of Fame and the first from the University of Manitoba.

Before moving on to the national team in 2010, Scott played five seasons for the Bisons, beginning in 2005 when she was named the CW Rookie of the Year.

She was a two-time First Team All-Canadian and was also Manitoba’s Female Athlete of the Year in 2009-10 during her university career.

After university Scott has gone on to play more than 150 games for the national program and has been part of two Olympic Games (London in 2012 and Rio in 2016), along with a pair of FIFA Women’s World Cups (Canada in 2015 and France in 2019).
