Silverado Socrates has run her way into the Canada West Hall of Fame.

The former University of Victoria Vikes cross country and track distance runner is the latest conference inductee into the Hall of Fame, as Canada West continues to celebrate 100 years of university sport in Western Canada.

Socrates joins Cole McFarlane (MSOC) and Nicci Wright (WSOC) as the other former Vikes enshrined into the new Hall of Fame this fall.

Socrates (formerly Brenda Shackleton) was a three-time CIAU Cross Country Athlete of the Year, and was also the 1987-88 CIAU Track and Field Athlete of the Year. She won a combined five CIAU gold medals over her career, and culminated her time as a student-athlete by being named UVic Female Athlete of the Year (1987-88).
