The Huskies will enter the event with momentum on their side, having finished third as a team at the newly-resurrected Canada West cross country championships two weeks ago. Standout Courtney Hufsmith finished second in the race, crossing the line just two-tenths of a second behind the gold medal winner despite that being her first race of the season. Also shining on the day was rookie Kaitlyn Harrison who crossed the line seventh to earn Canada West First Team All-Star honours alongside Hufsmith.

The women will run 8 km starting at noon on a course that winds around Fort Henry’s lawns and trails.
