Trinity Western rugby star Tausani Levale (Abbotsford, B.C.) will once again represent Canada with the senior women’s 15s team, as she was named to Rugby Canada’s roster for a two-game series against the USA Women’s Eagles on November 20th and 24th, 2019 in Chula Vista, Calif.

Levale, who joined the Spartans first-year program this fall after winning gold with Canada at the 2019 Pan American Games this past summer, made her debut as a substitute against Wales last fall, before starting the following game at inside centre against Scotland.

Most recently, Levale started at No. 10 for the BC Selects XVs in a game against the Seattle Saracens (Oct. 26), helping lead her team to a 29-15 win.

The Spartans women’s 7s team will make open their preseason this Friday with a scrimmage and training session with the University of the Fraser Valley (6-8 p.m.).

In the spring, Levale and TWU will compete in the 2020 Canada West Rugby 7s Series, joining what will now be an eight-team circuit, including Alberta, Calgary, UBC, Victoria, Lethbridge, Fraser Valley and UBC Okanagan.

The series opens January 18 and 19 in Edmonton (hosted by Alberta), before making its way to Vancouver (hosted by UBC) and finally to Vancouver Island in March (hosted by Victoria). The 2020 CW champion will be crowned based on cumulative series points.

The two-game Can-Am series will close out 2019 for Canada’s women’s squad as they continue their build to the 2021 Rugby World Cup in New Zealand. Fans can watch both games LIVE with a FloRugby subscription on www.florugby.com
