The West Kelowna Warriors slow start leads to a 3-1 Chilliwack Chiefs victory.

The Chiefs and Warriors went back and forth to start the game but it was the Chiefs who drew first blood. A Nick Ardanaz tripping call placed the Chiefs on the power play allowing Nikita Nestorenko to get the first goal of the game giving the Chiefs an early 1-0 lead heading into the second period.

The Warriors got off to a rough start to the second frame with the Chiefs lurking in the zone for the first half of the period. With under 7 minute to get Tommy Lyons would collect a Johnny Derrick rebound and find the open cage to extend the Chiefs lead to 2-0.

The Warriors came out strong in the third period hitting a Chiefs goaltender Kolby Thornton with everything he could handle. Late in the period the Warriors would finally solve Thornton with Holden Kodak picking up his second of the season cutting the lead in half. The Warriors would continue to pressure inside the Chiefs zone with the net empty and John Evans would have a wide open net off a board deflection which would hop right over his stick allowing the Chiefs to clear the zone. With under a minute remaining the Chiefs would score the empty net goal to make it 3-1 the final.

Final shots on goal: 35-21 in favor of the Chiefs.
