The West Kelowna Warriors great start leads to a 3-0 shutout over the Alberni Valley Bulldogs Thursday night.

After two rough starts in a row, the Warriors got on the board early after Tyler Cristall was able to beat Luke Pearson to make it 1-0. The Warriors were not done there. The new look line of Levi Stauber, Ryan Upson and Holden Kodak would go to work with Upson finding Levi Stauber who made no mistake beating Pearson to give the Warriors a 2-0 lead after one period.

In the second frame the Bulldogs came out strong with a couple quick scoring chances but Johnny Derrick stood tall keeping it 2-0. The Warriors would get back on track and it would be Jacob Brockman firing a shot from the point and Deegan Mofford collecting the rebound giving the Warriors a 3-0 lead after two periods of play.

After the Warriors got into some penalty trouble late in the second, the Bulldogs would start the third with a two man advantage. The turning point of the night was the Warriors killing off the two man advantage after some stellar play from Carter Wilke icing the puck twice. The Warriors would rely on Johnny Derrick the rest of the way keeping it 3-0. Derrick would pick up a 25 save shutout giving the Warriors a much needed two points in the BCHL Standings. After Thursday night’s win, the Warriors sit 3 points back from the Victoria Grizzlies and only 1 point back from the Prince George Spruce Kings.

Final shots on goal: 31-25 in favor of the Warriors.
