September 25, 2020

VICTORIA, BC: On October 1, 2020, young athletes from Greater Victoria will have access to a brand-new High-Performance Training Facility. The 5,000 sq. ft space, located at 102-721 Vanalman Avenue, features top of the line custom equipment and technologies designed for all elements of developing athletic movement.

“Our philosophy is based on the development of movement patterns and skills to build a broad foundation for athletes,” says Khyl Orser, Head Coach and Owner of Speed Mechanics. “Upon this foundation, we continue to build intensity and capacity leading to faster, stronger, more powerful and robust athletes ready to take on the challenges of their sports.”

Key features of the new facility include: large indoor turf for sprinting, agility, and sport-specific training; a netted cage for throwing, hitting, kicking, or shooting; four custom racks with platforms and all strength training equipment; specialized conditioning equipment including curved motor-less treadmills. As our name suggests, everything is geared to make the athlete as fast as possible.

“Our mission is to offer the highest quality coaching for youth development in Victoria,” adds Anthony Pluta, Speed Mechanics Director of Baseball/Softball. “We want to work with young athletes and their coaches to help young athletes reach their highest level.”

Speed Mechanics’ vision is to bring elite level training methods to everyone. High importance is placed on educating young athletes, coaches and the community. The official Grand Opening is scheduled for October 1, 2020.
