STOKO ANNOUNCES PARTNERSHIP WITH THE VICTORIA ROYALS

Vancouver-based supportive apparel brand, Stoko has announced their exciting partnership with the Victoria Royals hockey team as the official supplier of innovative tights intended to help athletes to play at their potential. Stoko disrupted the market with their K1 compression tights designed with built-in technology to provide the benefits of a knee brace, with the comfort and aesthetic of performance wear. Stoko’s relationship with the Victoria Royals emphasizes the team’s commitment to seeking trusted, innovative solutions to help players manage knee injuries and protect their knees while they practice — on and off the ice.

“GSL Group’s support and investment in innovative BC start-up companies has led to a partnership with Stoko and the Victoria Royals,” Victoria Royals’ GM and Head Coach Dan Price said. “The health and safety of our athletes is always of paramount importance to our organization, and our partnership with Stoko is a testament to that. The Stoko K1 compression tights are the next stage in the evolution of knee safety for athletes or anyone with a knee issue. The K1 allows for the protection of a traditional knee brace while leaving the athlete unencumbered by having to wear a bulky device. This innovation will help our players stay on the ice and be able to perform to the best of their abilities.”

The partnership was put into place after months of evaluation of the Stoko K1 with Royals’ players. The product itself took years of engineering to develop and went through rigorous testing, proving to offer comparable joint support to industry leading knee braces. The fully recyclable fabric is produced and designed locally in Vancouver. Innovative in-house testing platform and body-mimicry technology is integral to creating the most accurate and intuitive fit, which is further customized on the athlete’s body. Furthermore, Stoko products are FDA approved and registered as a Class 1 Medical Device by Health Canada which can make them eligible to be covered by insurance.

“The product is certainly inspired by the movement of elite athletes – but can be worn by anyone who seeks to prevent injury or speed up recovery,” explains Geoff Renshaw, VP of Revenue at Stoko. “We’re creating a new category that we believe will be meaningful for millions of people — we want to replace your knee brace with supportive apparel that you will actually enjoy wearing, and that you feel good in. We are thrilled to be supporting the talent on the Victoria Royals as they enter the next season, and beyond.”

Stoko tights are available for both men and women, and currently available online at www.stokodesign.com and at select retail partners in Canada.
