highlanders 2May 19, 2013, Victoria, BC (ISN) - The Victoria Highlanders remain undefeated as the offence once again exploded in a 4-1 victory over the Seattle Sounders FC U-23, Sunday afternoon at Royal Athletic Park.

The Highlanders supporters were once again out in force, with 1376 fans cheering on their team.

Brett Levis opened the scoring at the 22-minute mark, shooting a ball past Sounders goalkeeper Earl Edwards. Jordie Hughes looked to get his third in two games when he ripped a shot to the bottom left that was stopped by Edwards.

The Sounders came within inches of tying the match in the 28th minute, when Josh Phillips rang one off the left post, keeping the game 1-0 Victoria. Levis tallied his second of the match when he opted to split two defenders and then finesse a shot past the Sounders goalkeeper, the goal received the largest roar of the afternoon from the fans of the match, and put the Highlanders up 2-0. The two-goal margin was threatened again when Sounders Aodhan Quinn looked to convert on a corner kick, but it was not to be and the Highlanders retained their 2 goal differential.

In the second half Tommy Mallette put the Highlanders up to 3-0, a broken play in the box that fortunately found the ball at Mallette's feet. The goal was followed by a timely save by Highlanders keeper Elliot Mitrou, who stopped a blast to the right corner to keep the Sounders off the board.

Riley O'Neill converted a beautiful header to put Victoria up 4-0 at the 61-minute mark. The Sounders answered back quickly in the 63-minute on a goal by Miles Byass. The Sounders goal would be the final of the match, with the Highlanders winning their third-straight victory to start the match.
