Extreme Sailing Series 2016 Stop 7 - Lisbon, Portugal: Participants

For the fourth day in a row, two-time America’s Cup winners Alinghi of Switzerland controlled the field at the Extreme Sailing Series stop in Lisbon, Portugal, on Sunday, winning the regatta with Norauto of France in second place. Delivering a make-or-break victory in Sunday’s final double-points race, two-time Olympic champion Roman Hagara of Austria skippered Red Bull Sailing to third on the Lisbon podium.

In front of large crowds at the tight stadium on the River Tagus, the Extreme Sailing Series’ seventh act – which also included the series’ first all-woman team, Thalassa Magenta Racing of Canada – was one of the most action-packed of the season. By knocking series leader Oman Air off the podium in the Portuguese capital, Red Bull Sailing deepened the body blow dealt by Alinghi’s win.
