The Swift Current Broncos completed a trade with the Edmonton Oil Kings on Thursday, dealing 20-year-old forward Andrew Fyten for a conditional fifth-round selection in the 2020 WHL Bantam Draft.

This season, Fyten served as an alternate captain for the Broncos and has enjoyed a productive start to the 2018-19 season, recording 17 points (8g-9a) in 27 contests.

Fyten joined the Broncos prior to the 2018 WHL Trade Deadline via trade with the Calgary Hitmen. The 6’1, 188lb forward tallied seven points (3g-4a) in 29 regular season games last year and added six points (2g-4a) in 25 playoff games en route to helping the Broncos capture the Ed Chynoweth Cup as WHL Champions.

A native of Sundre, AB, Fyten was originally drafted by the Everett Silvertips in the fifth round, 108th overall in the 2013 WHL Bantam Draft and has collected 59 points (25g-34a) in 211 career regular season games.

Swift Current wraps up the first-half of the 2018-19 campaign with a back-to-back set against the Prince Albert Raiders this weekend beginning with a home date vs. the Raiders on Friday, December 14th at 7:00pm CT.
