The Tier 1 Shamrocks, defending league champs, opened the 2019 season the way they ended 2018, defeating the visiting Burnaby Lakers 14-1 in the season opener at the Q Centre Saturday afternoon.

The Rocks held period leads of 2-0 and 10-1 on the way to the victory.  Jonathon Boyd led the Shamrocks with the hat trick and 1 helper.  Evan Law and Brodie Wade each tallied twice, adding 3 and 1 assist respectively with 7 other players adding to the scoresheet.  Adam Bland started in goal, allowing just 1 goal in the first 40 minutes before giving way to Jr. B call-up Diego Such for period 3.

The Jr. B Shamrocks are on the road Sunday to face Maple Ridge and return to the Q Centre next Saturday, May 4 for a 4:00 pm game against the Port Coquitlam Saints.  The Jr. ‘A’ Shamrocks begin their season tomorrow on the road in Langley and host the Langley Thunder in their home opener on May 4 – that game a 1:00 pm start at the Q Centre.
