The WHL Awards Luncheon and WHL Bantam Draft will be held in Red Deer, AB this week. The WHL Awards Banquet is on Wednesday, May 1st and the WHL Bantam Draft will take place on Thursday, May 2nd.
For the first time since the WHL Bantam started in 1990, the Blazers will select twice in the first round of the WHL Bantam Draft at 7th overall and 20th overall.
Players eligible for the 2019 WHL Bantam Draft will be 2004-born players who reside in Alberta, B.C., Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Northwest Territories, Yukon, Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Kansas, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Washington and Wyoming.
A few current players that were selected in the WHL Bantam Draft include Connor Zary, Brodi Stuart, Quinn Schmiemann, Dylan Garand, Josh Pillar and Logan Stankoven.
