The Jr. ‘A’ Shamrocks came up with their second win in a row, trouncing the visiting Burnaby Lakers 18-8 at the Q Center Saturday.  The game was close for the first 20 minutes, the Rocks holding a 6-4 lead at the intermission but outscored the visitors 9-2 in the second period to take control.  Leading the offense once again was Austin Madronic with 4 goals and 4 assists.  Patrick Dodds also had an 8-point night on 3 goals and 5 helpers.  League scoring leader Zach Manns had the hat trick and an assist.  Almost every player on the roster had at least 1 point and Ryan Atkinson was outstanding in goal, stopping 39 of the 47 shots he faced to pick up the win.  The Shamrocks take on league-leading Coquitlam on the road Sunday and return home next Saturday, June 1 to host the New Westminster Salmonbellies at 5:00 pm.

 

The Tier 1 Junior B Shamrocks also picked up a home win, defeating the Richmond Roadrunners 8-6 at the Q Center.  Evan Law and Davis McCulley each had a pair of goals to lead the offense.  Singles came from Jacob Obee, Rhys MadDonald, Cameron Lumb and Carson Echlin while Nolan Dalep picked up the win in goal.  The Tier 1 Shamrocks travel to Queens Park Arena to face the New Westminster Salmonbellies Sunday and the Salmonbellies make the return visit to the Q Center next Saturday at 1:00.
