Both the Tier 1 Jr. ‘B’ and the Jr. ‘A’ Shamrocks had home games against the New Westminster Salmonbellies and both came away with wins at the Q Center Saturday.

In the matinee it was the Tier 1 Rocks holding 5-3 and 8-6 period leads to go on to a 12-8 victory.  Evan Law led Victoria’s offense with the hat trick while Cole Arthur and Isaac Swan chipped in a pair of goals each with Swan adding 3 assists.  Single goals came from Jacob Obee, Jonathon Boyd, Davis McCulley, Travis Pullan and Graham Goodfellow with Adam Bland picking up the win in goal.  The Tier 1 Rocks take on the Langley Thunder on the road Sunday and return to the Q Center for a mid-week game against their island rivals, the Nanaimo Timbermen.  Game time on Tuesday, June 4 is 7:30 pm

 

In the Jr. ‘A’ contest Victoria dominated for 2 periods, holding a 10-3 lead after 40 minutes before giving up 6 straight goals before adding an empty-netter to give them an 11-9 win.   Zach Manns had the hat trick and 2 assists for the Shamrocks while Caleb Kueber also had a 5-point night with 5 helpers.  Patrick Dodds had the hat trick and 1 assist. Brayden Brown and Ben Preston each had a pair of goals with Preston also contributing 3 assists.  Jackson Boyd had the other Jr. Rocks goal and Cameron Dunkerley picked up the win in goal.  The Jr. ‘A’ Rocks are on the road Sunday and for the next several games.  They  do not return to the Q Center until Saturday, June 22 when they will face the Delta Islanders.
