On Thursday the Shamrocks will travel to Nanaimo to take on the Timbermen. Nanaimo played the spoiler role in front of a packed Q Centre for the Shamrocks home opener back on May 24th with an 11-6 win. Casey Jackson and Chris Boushy each scored a pair of goals in that setback, but the big story on the night was the play of Nanaimo goaltender Charles Claxton who turned aside 40 Shamrocks shots en route to being named the games 1st star. Nanaimo is a perfect 2-0 to start the season making this contest all the important.
On Sunday, the Shamrocks head to Maple Ridge to take on the Burrards in another key early season match-up. Entering this week, Maple Ridge’s Mike Mallory leads all WLA players in goals with 12 and points with 22 as the Burrards have jumped out of the gates with a 3-1 record.
