Will Warm

The Victoria Royals are pleased to announce that the club has acquired 1999-born defenceman Will Warm from the Edmonton Oil Kings in exchange for a fifth round pick in the 2021 WHL Bantam Draft.

The product of Whistler, BC recently completed his third season in the WHL with the Oil Kings. In 33 games last season, Warm recorded two assists and 20 penalty minutes. The 20-year-old defender also suited up in 16 playoff games for Edmonton, where he helped his team reach the Eastern Conference Finals.

In May of this year, at the annual WHL Awards, Warm was named the league’s recipient of the Doug Wickenheiser Memorial Trophy as the WHL Humanitarian of the Year. He was recognized for his work in the Greater Edmonton Community, that was highlighted by weekly visits to the local Ronald McDonald House as part of his Will Warms the Community initiative.

Prior to the start of the 2017-18 WHL season, Warm attended the NHL’s Vegas Golden Knights’ development, rookie and main training camps as an undrafted invite.

Over the course of his 153-game WHL career (2016-present), Warm has collected 38 points (10g-28a) along with 152 minutes in penalties with the Oil Kings.

The 6-0, 177 lb blueliner was selected by Edmonton in the fifth round, 108th overall, in the 2014 WHL Bantam Draft.
