Both Jr. Shamrocks teams picked up home wins Saturday.  The Tier 1 Junior ‘B’ version defeated the visiting Port Coquitlam Saints 11-7 in the matinee.  Jonathon Boyd and Cameron Lumb each picked up hat tricks to lead Victoria’s offense.  Brodie Strugnell added 2 goals and 2 assists.  Adam Bland picked up the win in goal and contributed 3 assists to the offense.  Next home game for the Tier 1 Shamrocks is next Sunday, June 30 at 1:00 pm when they will host the Maple Ridge Burrards at the Q Centre.  That will be the final regular season home game for the Tier 1 squad prior to heading into playoffs.

In the later contest, the Jr. ‘A’ Shamrocks celebrated Alumni Day with a 13-8 victory over the Delta Islanders.  The game was close for 2 periods, the teams deadlocked at 7 going into the second intermission but Victoria broke it open in the third, outscoring the visitors 6-1 to pick up the win. Zach Manns led the offense with a 6-point night on 2 goals and 4 helpers while Patrick Dodds picked up a pair of goals and 2 helpers and Ben Preston added a goal and 3 assists.  Ryan Atkinson picked up the win in goal.  The Jr. ‘A’ Rocks get right back at it tomorrow (Sunday) when they will host the league-leading Coquitlam Adanacs at 5:00 pm.
