The Jr. ‘A’ Shamrocks outlasted the league-leading Coquitlam Adanacs at the Q Center Sunday, coming away with a 7-6 overtime win. Victoria led 2-1 after the first, trailed 4-2 after two and got the winner 5:35 into the 10-minute overtime handing Coquitlam just their third loss of the season. Leading the way offensively for the Shamrocks was Casey Wilson with 4 goals and 1 assist. Austin Madronic added 2 goals and 2 helpers, Zach Manns had 4 assists with Preston getting the all-important 7th goal. Cameron Dunkerley was outstanding in goal to pick up the win, stopping 46 of the 52 shots he faced. Next home game for the Shamrocks is Tuesday, July 2 at 8:00 pm at the Q Center when they will face their island rivals, the Nanaimo Timbermen.
The Tier 1 Jr. ‘B’ Shamrocks were also in action Sunday as they travelled to Burnaby and took an 11-3 victory over the Lakers. Their next home game is Sunday, June 30 when they will host the Maple Ridge Burrards in their final regular season game at 1:00 pm.
