The Junior A Shamrocks are sitting in 2nd place after an exciting overtime win against Coquitlam last weekend. They are heading over to New Westminster on Saturday with a full squad for this rematch. The last time they met New West they were down 9 regular players as they were attending a recruiting tournament in Denver, Colorado with their respective high school field lacrosse programs.

In addition to having their full roster there will be two new players joining the team. The Junior Rocks have obtained 5th year junior, 6’3”, 200- pound right handed defensive player Dylan Lavoie from Sarnia Ontario. Lavoie has played four and half seasons with the Point Edward Pacers of the Ontario Junior B League.  In 73 games he has 3 goals, 4 assists and 241 penalty minutes. Dylan brings a stay at home defensive toughness to the back end of the floor.

McComber, is a fast, evasive shooter who can score from all over the floor.

This is the time of year that teams make strategic trades in order to strengthen their rosters with the goal being a Minto Cup run. These are not permanent trades as the players will return to their respective teams at the end of the season. The Junior Shamrocks are sitting in a great place this 2019 season and are working hard to win the rest of their games to ensure they are strong going into playoffs.

The next home game for the Junior A Shamrocks is Tuesday July the 2nd when they take on their Island Rivals the Nanaimo Timbermen. This is an 8pm start at the Q-Centre in Colwood.
