The Jr. ‘A’ Shamrocks wrapped up the home portion of their regular season with a 14-3 trouncing of the visiting Port Coquitlam Saints Saturday at the Q Center. It was close for a period, the Rocks holding a slim 3-2 lead after 20 minutes but scored 5 unanswered goals in period 2 to run away with the game. Ben Preston and Teioshontathe Mccomber each had a 6-point night with the former scoring twice and adding 4 helpers, the latter with the hat trick and 3 assists. Austin Madronic, Brayden Brown and Zach Manns contributed a pair of goals each with singles coming from Jackson Boyd, Max Wilson and Patrick Dodds. Cam Dunkerley kicked aside 39 of the 42 shots he faced to pick up the win.
The season wraps up Sunday with the Shamrocks on the road against these same Saints with playoffs expected to commence in the next week. Final standings for positions 2 through 5 are still very much in the air pending Sunday’s results.
