Victoria Senior Lacrosse League played their final game of the 2019 season at Archie Browning Arena, and what a game it was.
The rubber match… Game 3 . For all the marbles … A young Cowichan team jumped out to a early 3 zip lead. The blazers finally woke up in the 2nd going on a 5 goal run lead by Adam West Patrick and Cody Boon.
Late in the third the rats tied it up 5-5 to force a overtime as 3 games were not enough to settle the series. In over time it was all rats.
Young and full of energy, Blazers age started to show and the rats dominated a overtime period putting up 4 goals vs the blazers 1. Final score, River Rats 9 Blazers 6. Conner Manahan led the way with 3 goals including 1 in over time.
His father Kevin Manahan shored up the D end of the floor for the rats and showed his leadership as Rats end the Blazers five year championship dynasty.
