The Kelowna Falcons are pleased to announce infielder Cole Cummings and right handed pitcher Kristian have been named All-Stars for the 2019 West Coast League All-Star Game taking place in Bent, Oregon.
An incoming freshman to UC Santa Barbara, Cummings has used his quick hands at the plate to compile a strong first half of the season to earn the All-Star nomination. The Corona, California native is hitting .261 on the season with 11 RBI’s, second on the team, while leading the club in triples with 3. Not only has Cummings done damage at the plate, the 6’2″, 190-pound left-handed hitter has only committed one error this season while playing a majority of the time at third base.
Scott has found a niche for the back of the bullpen and his heavy arm has lead to closing out a pair of games this season and being used in many high-leverage situations. The 6’3″, 220-pound right-hander holds a 2-2 record with a 5.19 ERA this season while collecting 8 strikeouts in 8.2 innings pitched. The Glendora, California native is coming off of a two strikeout effort in Cowlitz in 1.1 innings pitched for his second win of the season.
Cummings and Scott will join the rest of the North Division All-Stars to take on the South Division All-Stars on Tuesday, July 23rd at Vince Genna Stadium in Bend, Oregon. The Home Run Derby comes a day before on Monday, July 22nd with the participants being released by the WCL later in the week.
