The Jr. ‘B’ Tier 1 Shamrocks saw their season come to an end with a 6-5 loss to the visiting Delta Islanders Tuesday at the Q Center. The Islanders win the semi-final series 2 games to 1 and advance to meet the Coquitlam Adanacs in the league final. It was a hard-fought battle from start to finish. The Rocks got goals from 5 different players and, despite the loss, Adam Bland was strong in goal. Scoring for the Shamrocks were Cole Arthur, Braylon Lumb, Brodie Wade, Graham Goodfellow and Carson Echlin.
There is one more series on the agenda for the Tier 1 Shamrocks as they will face a team from the Interior Tier 1 league in a 2-game, total-goal series to determine the Provincial Champion. Those games are scheduled for the weekend of August 10-11. Further details to follow.
In the meantime, the Jr. ‘A’ Shamrocks are gearing up for game 5 of their semi-final series against the New Westminster Salmonbellies. With the series tied 2-2, game 5 is scheduled for 4:00 pm Saturday, July 27 at the Save-On Memorial Center with game 6 slated for Queen’s Park Arena on Sunday.
