Maple Ridge took Game #2 of the 2019 WLA Finals by a score of 10-6. Ben McIntosh scored six goals against the Victoria Shamrocks as the Burrards evened the Finals at a game apiece.

It was a frustrating night for the Rocks, who struggled with penalties and offense. Victoria was handed ten penalties in the game and gave up four goals on eight Maple Ridge power plays. Offensively, the Rocks were limited to just 36 shots on the night, their worst total in the playoffs. Jesse King and Tyson Gibson each had four points, with King scoring two third-period goals for Victoria. Peter Dubenski made 40 saves and made some terrific saves early in the first period that gave Victoria a 3-2 lead after one period.

But Victoria had no answer for Ben McIntosh, who scored a hat trick in the second period. He finished with eight points in Game 2, his highest single-game point total since Game 1 of last year’s Mann Cup. Superman Curtis Dickson and Dane Dobbie each had two goals for Maple Ridge while Dan Taylor had four assists. Frank Scigliano made 29 saves and was named the second star of the night.

The Rocks and Burrards meet Tuesday night again as Game 3 is in Victoria.
