The Nanaimo Senior B Timbermen, who have operated as a non-profit society since 2012, has announced a partnership with the Nanaimo Clippers Junior A Hockey Club with the Clippers becoming the Management Partner for the Senior B lacrosse team.

The future of the Nanaimo Senior B Timbermen was in jeopardy following this past season according to Timbermen General Manager Shawn Swanson “For the last eight years our executive group has worked tirelessly to keep this team operational but we weren’t sure if we could keep going after this last season.” Commented Swanson, “Without the Clippers coming on aboard, this team may not have operated next season, so we can’t thank them enough.”

The Nanaimo Clippers, who are owned by Wes and Penny Mussio, are excited for this new venture. Wes Mussio commented “Once we heard they [Nanaimo Senior B Timbermen] needed help to survive, we knew we had to step up and ensure the team would continue operations.” Wes Mussio further remarked “My goal, when buying the Clippers, and now helping with the Senior B Timbermen, is to give back to the community of Nanaimo. This move definitely solidifies the sporting community in Nanaimo.”

The Nanaimo Senior B Timbermen have appointed Tali Campbell as the Club’s new President. Tali Campbell is currently the Nanaimo Clippers’ Director of Business Operations / Alternate Governor and will take on both team roles effective immediately.

The Nanaimo Senior B Timbermen are excited to have Shawn Swanson (General Manager) & Natalie Cashmore (Team Manager) returning, as well as the entire Coaching Staff of Kyle Couling, Simon Stocks and Mike Maughan.
