Isabella Bortolotto 17 year old female baseball player from Nanaimo British Columbia having opportunities come her way that she never dreamed of.
It started in June being selected as one of four Canadians, the only one from British Columbia, being selected by Major League Baseball and USA Women’s baseball to attend the Breakthrough Series in Vero Beach Florida .That led to a request for her to attend the BFA Nationals and play for the Boston Slammers but ultimately, she attended as a member of The LA Monarchs.
She played out of historic Beyer Stadium home of the original Rockford Peaches, photo showing her with Maybelle Blair and Shirley Burkovich. Her most recent opportunity coming just ten days ago being asked by the coach of the Toronto Fusion to have Isabella play as a pitcher and a shortstop for him in a tournament October 23rd to 27th in Fort Myers Florida for the Women’s World Series.
Her dream is to play for the Canadian National Team and she’s working really hard to make that a reality, all of these amazing opportunities coming her way are helping her experience women in baseball on a much larger scale than she ever thought possible and deepen her love for the game.
We are proud of you Isabella and Now the entire Island will be watching and cheering you on as you achieve your dream !!!
