The Victoria Royals have acquired defenceman Jacob Herauf (2000) from the Red Deer Rebels in exchange for a second round pick in the 2020 WHL Bantam Draft, a sixth round pick in 2021 and a conditional pick in 2022.

In 66 games with the Rebels last season, the Sherwood Park, AB native recorded 16 points (1g-15a) and 45 penalty minutes. The 6-0, 194 lb blueliner also played in four playoff contests for Red Deer during the 2019 post-season and registered an assist.

Prior to the start of the 2018-19 WHL season, Herauf attended the Pittsburgh Penguins’ training camp as an undrafted invite.

Over the course of his 173 game WHL career (2016-present), all with the Rebels, Herauf has collected 39 points (3g-36a) and 103 minutes in penalties. He has also skated in 13 career post-season games where he tallied an assist.

Herauf was selected by Red Deer in the first round, 16th overall, in the 2015 WHL Bantam Draft.
