Former Victoria Vikes men’s soccer star Cole McFarlane is the latest student-athlete to enter the Canada West Hall of Fame.

McFarlane’s induction was announced Monday, as he becomes the second Vike to enter the HOF after Nicci Wright’s induction on Friday.

A five-year member of the Vikes men’s soccer team, McFarlane was a conference all-star his entire career at Victoria (Second Team 2005, First Team 2006-09), and was also the Canada West Rookie of the Year (2005), and Player of the Year (2008).

McFarlane ranks as one of the most prolific goal scorers in conference history

Along with his individual accomplishments, he was a big part of Victoria’s back-to-back conference titles in 2008 and 2009.

McFarlane completed his university career with 34 conference goals, which is tied for fifth in the Canada West record book as of 2019. He sits second on the Vikes goal-scoring list behind only Simon Vikers (39).
