September 11, 2019 Victoria, BC (ISN). – The Ballenas Whalers junior varsity football team marked their first win of the 2019 BC High School football season with a 40-0 exhibition victory over the Belmont Bulldogs.
For the Western Conference ‘AA Whalers , the win was welcomed after a 29-24 loss last week to ‘AAA Centennial of Vancouver. For the Belmont Bulldogs, going through some growing pains as the young team looks to find its stride, the exhibition loss is their second loss of the preseason, yet to score against the pair opponents they have faced.
Ballenas would take control early in the game, mounting a convincing 26-0 lead at halftime. Ballenas would keep the pressure on the Bulldogs with an early score early in the third quarter, adding a two point conversion. Another major scored by the Whalers would lead the visitors to a 40-0 victory.
