Beck Warm

The Western Hockey League announced today that Tri-City Americans goaltender Beck Warm has been named the WHL Eli Wilson Goaltending Goaltender of the Week for the week ending September 29, 2019.

Warm won both road games for the Americans this weekend, posting a 0.50 goals-against average, stopping 69 of 70 shots for a .986 save percentage, and recording one shutout.

Friday, Warm stopped 31 of 32 shots in a 3-1 win against the Seattle Thunderbirds. He stopped all 21 shots through the opening 40 minutes, then stopped 10 of 11 shots in the final 20 minutes. He was named the first star of the game for his efforts.

Saturday, Warm spoiled the party in the Spokane Chiefs’ home opener. He stopped all 38 shots for the third shutout of his WHL career, turning aside 13 shots in the first, 12 in the second, and 13 more in the third. Warm was again named the first star of the night and was also recognized as the WHL’s first star of the night for Saturday’s action.

In four games this season, Warm has posted a 3-1-0-0 record, 1.97 GAA, .941 SV%, and one shutout.

The 6-foot-0, 172-pound product of Whistler, B.C. was originally listed by the Americans and has steadily become one of the top goaltenders in the league. In 111 WHL regular season games for his career, Warm has a 54-41-6-1 record, 3.18 GAA, .907 SV%, and three shutouts.

Up next for the Americans is their first trip north of the 49th parallel on Wednesday, October 2 (7:05 p.m. PT) when they travel to Prospera Place to face the Kelowna Rockets.
