Trinity Western’s men’s rugby team will compete in its first-ever sevens competition, as the Spartans will compete in the prestigious West Coast Sevens Treasure Island tournament Saturday and Sunday in San Francisco, Calif.

 

The Spartans are in a pool with the defending tournament champion University of California, Berkeley as well as the University of San Diego and San Jose State University.

 

TWU’s roster is a freshman-laden squad, with all but two players – Khyree Poole (El Cajon, Calif.) and Garrett Sheperd (El Dorado Hills, Calif.) – competing in their first years of eligibility.
