The Victoria Royals shutout the Swift Current Broncos 4-0 on Friday night. Royals’ goaltender Brock Gould stopped all 23 shots saved in his first WHL shutout of his career.

Victoria was quick to scoring five minutes into the first period as Tauren Fizer picked up his fourth goal of the season with assists coming from Ty Yoder, and Noah Lamb.

The Royals tacked on three more goals in the second-period scoring again early in the period as Phillip Shultz (1st of the season) scored the insurance goal with assists coming from Will Warm, and Tarun Fizer. Victoria was able to score yet again making it 3-0 as Sean Gulka scored his second goal of the season with assists from Nolan Jones and Tarun Fizer. Brandon Cutler (1) went on to score on a breakaway picking up Victoria’s fourth goal of the game with an assist from Noah Lamb.

The Royals would finish the game strong as they were able to get shots on goal which killed time, saving the shutout for Brock Gould.
