Nanaimo Clippers captain, Ethan Scardina, has joined Trevor LeDonne and Kyler Kovich at the 2019 Canada West training camp. This camp is part of the selection process for the Canada West team heading to the World Junior A Challenge to be held in Dawson Creek December 7-15, 2019.
Scardina leads the Clippers in scoring this year with 25 points in 27 games including a team leading 12 goals. Last season, Scardina lead the Clippers again in points at 56 in 54 points and goals at 26. He is committed to the NCAA Div 1 program at Bowling Green for the 2020-2021 season.
Darren Naylor, Head Coach and GM, commented; “I am happy to see Scardina rewarded. He has been a great leader for the Clippers this year dominating many games with his physical strength and NHL level shot. He definitely deserves the invite. We will miss him at league play.”
Wes Mussio, owner of the Clippers noted; “It is nice seeing three of our players recognized by Hockey Canada. This highlights the gains we have made at the Clippers in terms of the growing talent pool. Scardina has been a force for us this year and deserves a chance to make Canada West.”
