The Edmonton Oil Kings unveiled their 2019 Teddy Bear Toss jerseys at a press conference in the Oilers Hall of Fame Room at Rogers Place on Monday.
The jerseys will be worn during the team’s 13th annual Teddy Bear Toss presented by The Brick, taking place this Saturday, December 7 when the Oil Kings host the Calgary Hitmen at 7:00 PM MT.
The jerseys will carry forward the theme from last year’s teddy bear-inspired look, this time with the ‘bears’ donning a set of overalls – including pant shells – as well as its signature puffy tail on the back of the jersey and shaggy bear fur printed on the socks.
Goaltender Todd Scott’s gear takes it a step further, as his glove, blocker, helmet and pads are all textured with the special teddy bear look.
“After last season’s successful look and feel of the jersey, our group felt there was an opportunity to build on the bear theme,” said Edmonton Oil Kings Alternate Governor and Director of Business Operations, Daniel Troiani. “Our goal was to re-create the bear in a full uniform to enhance the Teddy Bear Toss experience. We’re very excited to share it with our fans this Saturday.”
