Nanaimo picked up an extra draft pick by trading goaltender Colin Jeffrey to the Port Coquitlam Saints in exchange for the 12th overall pick and future considerations.  Nanaimo used the number 12 pick to select Joshua Fredette.

Jace Francis was the top player selected on the Island.

The Nanaimo Junior A and Junior B Tier 1 Timbermen have been improving over the past few years.  Both teams played well in the playoffs in 2019 and should be very competitive in 2020.
