The Victoria Royals were defeated 3-0 by the Prince Albert Raiders Wednesday night at the Art Hauser Centre.
Since moving to the island prior to the 2011-12 season, the Royals are now 5-3-0-1 against the Prince Albert Raiders. Tonight’s loss was the first time that Victoria has lost in Prince Albert since the 2011-12 season.
Coaching Connection: Royals’ head coach Dan Price was a scout for the Regina Pats, while current Raiders’ General Manager Cutis Hunt served as head coach from 2004-06.
Back in Town: Victoria forward Carson Miller made his first appearance against his former team tonight. The 2000-born Miller recorded 47 points (20g-27a) in 156 career games played for the club. Prince Albert drafted Miller in the first round, 21st overall in the 2015 WHL Bantam Draft.
Former Royals: A pair of former Victoria Royals suited up on defence for Prince Albert tonight. Jeremy Masella was drafted by Victoria in 2016 and went on to play a total of 63 regular season games in parts of two seasons with the club, before being traded to the Raiders in 2018. Remy Aquilon was listed by the Royals in 2017 and played 57 games for the club in parts of three seasons and was traded to Prince Albert prior to the start of this season.
Next Up: Victoria continues their six-game road trip Friday night against the Regina Pats. Puck drop is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. PST.
