A weekend sweep has propelled the Thompson Rivers University WolfPack women’s volleyball team up a spot in the latest U SPORTS National top ten rankings.
The Pack (now 15-5) swept the University of British Columbia Okanagan Heat at home last weekend . As a result, their ELO of 1663.34 has moved and pushed them from 10th spot last week to number nine this time around.
There is a new number one team. The defending national champion Trinity Western University Spartans have moved back atop of the national rankings. The Spartans, who will be in Kamloops to close out the Canada West regular season on February 14-15th have an 18-2 record and an ELO of 1823.86. They are up from second spot last week.
Dalhousie Tigers have dropped to second from first. The Tigers are 15-0 and have an ELO of 1814.10.
Ryerson Rams, Toronto Blues, Mount Royal Cougars, Montreal Caribins and Alberta Pandas remain in the same spots they were last week (number through seven).
The rams are 13-2 with an ELO of 1813.68. Toronto is 10-3 (ELO 1749.10), Mount Royal is 15-3 with an ELO of 1733.83. Montreal stands 11-3 (ELO of 1679.88). Alberta has a record of 12-6 (ELO 1679.24).
The Brock Badgers have moved up a spot from ninth to eighth. They are 9-3 with an ELO of 1670.34.
Sitting in tenth position are the Waterloo Warriors, who were eighth last week. They have a 9-4 record with an ELO of 1655.47.
The WolfPack have a bye week and return to Canada West play on Friday, Feburary 7th when they visit the MacEwan Griffins in Edmonton, Alberta.
