With the cancellation of the 2020 TC10K due to COVID-19, RunSport Victoria Society is pleased to offer previously registered participants an opportunity to participate in a virtual run/walk in June. From June 5 – 30, those registered for the 2020 TC10K can run or walk a 10k distance, or they have the option to participate in the Garden City 5k, or a 1k Family Run.
The virtual run will be offered through Race Roster utilizing the ASICS Runkeeper™ tracking platform. Participants, once they have completed their distance, can upload their time to receive their official result and download a finishers certificate. All registered participants will be eligible to receive some fabulous draw prizes donated by TC10K sponsors.
“We are encouraging everyone to pick a day, time and distance and run or walk in their neighbourhood at their own pace,” says RunSport Victoria Society Executive Director Keith Bridge. “In addition to a 10k we are offering a 5k option for those whose training may have dropped off, but still want to participate. They can also do the 10k in two 5k increments. We are also encouraging kids to be involved with a 1k family run.”
TC10K registrants can pick up their t-shirts and medals this coming weekend – June 5 and 6 from UVic’s Centennial Stadium. All registrants have been notified by email as they have to book a time slot for their pick up. Out of town registrants will receive notification after this weekend how they can pick up their race package.
“We are excited to offer a virtual run/walk as we know many have trained hard for the event. We encourage healthy lifestyles and hope everyone has a great run or walk. While we can’t be there at the finish line for you, we will be with you in spirit,” adds Bridge.
