The 2021 Volleyball Canada Beach Nationals will be held in Toronto, Aug. 20 to 22 at Ashbridges Bay.

“With 2020 Beach Nationals cancelled due to the pandemic, we are looking forward to creating a bigger and better event in 2021,” said Sandra de Graaff, Director of Domestic Competition for Volleyball Canada. “Beach volleyball is slowly returning across the country and we’re excited to start planning for when it’s safe to resume competition.”

Beach Nationals is an open tournament hosted for Youth and Senior categories for men and women. The event focuses on providing a competitive environment for athletes from across the country vying for the title of National Champion. New to the 2021 event will be age-class categories for 15U boys and 17U boys and girls.

Senior events will have a combined purse of $15,000. The last Beach Nationals was held in 2019 and included more than 200 teams from 10 provinces.  Volleyball Canada National Team members will again be entered in the Senior categories next year.

Other features planned for 2021:

  • Provincial Champions Clinics – Provincial Champions will again be invited with their coaches to attend a pre-nationals training session on check-in day with VC National Team NextGen coaches.
  • Skills Competitions – National Team NextGen coaches, Adriana Bento and Steve Anderson, will also be on-site running skill competitions throughout the weekend.
  • Try-Beach Clinics – will be offered throughout the weekend for fans and family members looking to learn the basics and try their hand at beach volleyball.
  • Alumni Event – will again be hosted alongside Beach Nationals. The event looks to celebrate our past, current and future volleyball athletes, and commemorate Volleyball Canada’s Beach Alumni and Olympians.
