Emileigh Macphie

Dalhousie Tigers women’s soccer head coach Cindy Tye is pleased to announce the commitment of Emileigh Macphie for the 2021-22 season.

A goalkeeper, Macphie currently plays for FC Durham Academy.

Hailing from Whitby, Ont., she is a multi-sport athlete at All Saints Catholic Secondary School where she plays basketball and volleyball in addition to soccer.

“I am so thankful and thrilled to be given the opportunity to continue my soccer career and study at one of the best schools in Canada,” says Macphie. “I am excited to not only grow as a person and player, but to grow in the classroom as well. I am so thrilled to become a Tiger and am looking forward to becoming a part of the Dalhousie community!”

A member of the 2019-20 academic achievement list at All Saints, Macphie will be working towards a Bachelor of Science while attending Dalhousie.

“Emileigh is coming to us from FC Durham and will immediately add value to our goalkeeping core,” says Tye. “She is athletic and courageous in the box. These things coupled with the technical skills she has shown will allow for a smooth transition into the program. Emileigh understands the commitment and dedication it takes to not only improve her skill set but to make the team better as well. Great character and a solid student, we are excited to welcome Emileigh to the Tigers!”
