Dalhousie Tigers women’s volleyball head coach Rick Scott is pleased to announce the commitment of Alessandra Nadalini for the 2021-22 season.
Hailing from Bedford, N.S., Nadalini plays for the Tigers Volleyball Club 18U team and helped lead them to a Volleyball Nova Scotia provincial championship win at the end of the 2018-19 season. A libero, she was a member of Team Nova Scotia’s 2018 Eastern Elite Championship squad and is a member of the current Canada Games team training group.
On the high school court, Nadalini suits up for Charles P. Allen High School, leading them to an undefeated season in 2019-20, winning the Metro, Regional and Nova Scotia School Athletic Federation provincial championships.
“I’m incredibly excited to become a member of the women’s volleyball team at Dalhousie,” says Nadalini. “Their program is one that I have admired over the years and I am very happy to be able to pursue both my education and my athletic career at the university level. I feel that Dalhousie is the best fit for me in all areas and I’m thrilled to be a Tiger next year!”
Nadalini hopes to enrol in Dalhousie’s Faculty of Health.
“We are excited to add Alessandra to our program,” says Scott. “She has proven to be one of the top volleyball players in Atlantic Canada’s graduating class. She is a strong and powerful athlete that is extremely competitive. An excellent passer, Alessandra has a great platform, strong hands and is a relentless defender. She also has a great shoulder and can serve and attack the ball with tremendous pace. I believe with continued hard work and development, Alessandra will play an important role with our team in the years ahead.”
The 2020-21 season was cancelled by the COVID-19 pandemic, but the reigning AUS champions look forward to pursuing their ninth-consecutive title in the 2021-22 season.
