The Victoria Royals announced they have signed Junior Hockey League (AJHL) goalie, Tyler Palmer (2003) to a WHL Standard Player Agreement.

Palmer was named one of the top goaltenders for the 2020-21 season in the AJHL after playing in 13 games for the Spruce Grove Saints, recording a 3.68 GAA, 0.892 SV% and one shutout.

“We’re delighted to have Tyler join our organization,” General Manager and Head Coach Dan Price said. “His trajectory in recent seasons has been impressive. He is a hardworking and dedicated athlete, as well as a tremendous person. We’re looking forward to getting on the ice with him at training camp.”

The Lethbridge, Alberta native joined the Saints late in the 2019 season after spending time with the Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL) U18 team.  Prior to that, the netminder was with the CSSHL U16, the Alberta Major Bantam Hockey League (AMBHL) and the Southern Central Alberta Hockey League (SCAHL).
