It’s a rematch of the 2017 PACWEST gold medal game as top seeded Capilano Blues meet the second seeded Douglas Royals in the title game on Halloween.

The Royals advanced to the championship game with a 2-1 win over the VIU Mariners on Saturday.  Hannah dela Cruz and Jessica Parks, a pair of PACWEST All-Stars, scored for the Royals and keeper Elisha Machado claimed the win in net.

Sunday’s game will mark the fourth time the Royals and Blues meet this season.  They each won a game and they tied the other in the seasonal series.   The Blues outscored the Royals 8-7 this year and saw Rookie of the Year Kayla Campbell score three of those and Player of the Year Claire Ye scoring twice.

Meanwhile the Royals in the series had two goals each from Martina Pettenon, Parks and Alicia Skirzyk.

This is only the second time in PACWEST history that the Blues and Royals meet in the championship game.  In 2017 the Royals claimed the gold medal in penalty kicks 3-2.

The winner will move onto the CCAA national championship tournament at Humber College in Toronto November 10-13th.
