The Victoria Royals announced earlier today that Captain Tarun Fizer has returned to Victoria.
The 20-year-old was invited to the Colorado Avalanche’s rookie camp back in September and went on to sign an AHL Amateur Tryout Agreement with the Avalanche’s AHL affiliate team, the Colorado Eagles, on October 4th.
Fizer will be coming back to a home crowd this weekend who haven’t seen the forward play in person since the 2019-20 season when he scored 19 goals and added 34 assists in the 57-game season. Last season in the Re/Max Hub Centre in Kelowna, the Alberta native was second in points for Victoria with six goals and 14 assists.
Fizer is set to join the Royals lineup this weekend as the team takes on the first place Kamloops Blazers.
Get your cowboy gear and head on down to the arena Friday to watch Fizer and the Royals in action on Friday for the Royals Country Bash. Then Saturday, it’s the annual Canadian Armed Forces Military Appreciation Night which includes a special door prize for the first 2000 guests and another Royals specialty jersey to be auctioned off with proceeds going towards the Military Family Resource Centre in Esquimalt.
