The Victoria Royals faced off against the Seattle Thunderbirds on their annual ‘pink in the rink night’. A night in which raises awareness and donations for breast cancer research. The red hot Seattle Thunderbirds came out with the 6-1 win over Victoria Royals who have been struggling.

The first period commenced with Victoria scoring first (Brayden Schuurman (24th) scores. Assists: #18 Tarun Fizer, #29 Bailey Peach). Seattle would not take long to tie it as four minutes later they scored (Henrik Rybinski (15th) scores. Assists: Jared Davidson, Sawyer Mynio). Seattle tacked on two more goals in the first taking a demanding lead with goals from Lukas Svejkovsky (17th) scores. (Assists:Jeremy Hanzel, Conner Roulette) and from Lukas Svejkovsk once again scoring (Assists: Leon Okonkwo Prada, Jordan Gustafson).

Victoria would only put two shots on the net as Seattle dominated the second period. They tallied two more goals from Jared Davidson (22nd) scored (Assist from Sam Oremba) and Reid Schaefer scored his 20th (Assists from Jared Davidson, Henrik Rybinski).

The Royals would finally get ten shots on net but would not prove to be enough to get anything going. Seattle kept the pressure in the Royals zone with a few powerplays to help. Seattle scored one last time as Reid Schaefer (21st) scored (Assists from Jared Davidson, Henrik Rybinsk). The final shots were 37-15 in Favour of Seattle.

A combination of lack of shots, tons of penalties, and just over sloppiness were what cost the Royals. It leaves the question of whether we will see a change perhaps behind the bench or up in managment.
