The Victoria Royals defeated the Kelowna Rockets 4-2 on Tuesday night. The first of two games against Kelowna. The Rockets came in sitting in 5th in the western conference and the Royals just a few positions below at 7th.
The Royals were first to strike as Marcus Almquist picked up the rebound and scored his 2nd of the season with assists coming from Luke Shipley and Kalem Parker. The Rockets tallied back tying the game as Mark Liwiski scored his 21st with assists from Max Graham and Jake Poole. Victoria took the lead a minute later when Riley Gannon picked up his 20th of the season assisted by Tanner Scott and Brayden Schuurman.
Kelowna tied it within the final minute of the second period tying the game 2-2. With the goal coming from Gabriel Szturc scoring his 15th assisted by Tyson Feist and Nolan Flamand .
The majority of the third period was spent in the Royals end as Kelowna applied the pressure in search of the game-winner. To their surprise, it was Bailey Peach who sneaked one past into the goal-scoring his 34th. Assisted by Tarun Fizer and Gannon Laroque. Victoria sealed the deal scoring the empty netter, Tarun Fizer scored his 15th assisted by Riley Gannon and Wyatt Wilson.
