Pacific FC and the Halifax Wanderers kicked off on Saturday afternoon at Starlight Stadium which had Pacific coming on top 2-1. Pacific kept their perfect record intact improving to 3-0-0 (Wins, draw, and loss*) on the season. Halifax on the other hand record dropped to 1-0-2. After a slow start to the game, it was Pacific scoring in the 25th minute. Alejandro Diaz crossed it into the box where Manny Aparicio was able to head it in scoring his second goal of the season.

Halifax ended up equalizing in the additional time of the first half. They were gifted a free kick in a great spot to capitalize and they made no mistake doing so. Cory Bent picked the corner and beat Callum Irving scoring his first goal of the season.

Things started to even out as both teams had flairs of offense. Pacific had a huge opportunity during the 79′ minute as he flicked up the ball to himself and attempted to do a bicycle kick to score. It wasn’t till the last ten minutes that Pacific would get their golden opportunity. As Marco Bustos fancied his way into the box only to be tripped and given a penalty kick. Alejandro Diaz ended up taking the penalty and he had no problem putting it away calmly giving pacific the 2-1 lead at the 84’minute.

Pacific held on to win with Callum Irving picking up the win in goal. They’ll head on the road to face FC Edmonton on Wednesday, April 27th, 2022 at 6:00 pm.
